What is Avios Card Online?
Avios Card Online is the online banking service available to Avios Card customers. This service allows you to manage your Avios account, wherever you are.
Where do I register/activate for the service?
Avios Card customers can register for this service on the website – www.avioscard.co.za.
What services are available on Avios Card Online?
Once you have logged on, you will have the following functions available:
- View your account
- Change your PIN, SurePhrase and Password
- View service information cancel service Manage online notifications
- Make enquiries on your accounts and see the latest balance
- See your transaction history
- Pay your beneficiaries
- view tax certificate
How much will I pay for the internet banking service?
What is an access account number?
An access account number is the number printed on the front of your credit card. This is the number you use to register for and access your Avios Card online service.
What is a PIN number?
PIN is short for Personal Identification Number. You have to choose this number yourself when you register for your Avios Card online service. This is a numeric only number and it could be 4 or 5 digits long. You will have to key in the PIN every time you log on to Avios Card online services.
What is a Password?
If you have transaction limits for your Avios Card online service and are able to perform financial transactions the system will request you to capture a Password online. You will be required to key in this Password every time you log on to Avios Card online services.
How many attempts do I get to enter my PIN?
You have three (3) attempts to enter your PIN. After the third unsuccessful attempt you will encounter a “security violation” and your PIN will be revoked. You will then have to call the Avios Card Customer Care on 0861 4 28467. This is a security measure to prevent unauthorised users from attempting to access your accounts. Should you forget your pin, contact the call centre for assistance.

What is a transaction limit?
Transaction limits apply to payments. These form an important part of your online banking security and can potentially stop a phisher from transferring very large volumes of money from your account. If you set these limits you will only be able transfer money and make payments within these limits. If however you do not have transaction limits set you will not be able to move your money anywhere.
What do I need to get access to Avios Card Online?
To access your Avios Card Online – all you will need is:
A computer, laptop or even a tablet with an internet connection. You must have registered for Avios Card Online. In addition to this you will need to create a PIN and Password.

What are the lead times for payments?
Please Note: The Avios Card Online uses Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The cut-off times are governed by INTERBANK CLEARING RULES.
Any internal transactions made from an Avios Card account to another Avios Card account will be credited immediately.
Avios Card will ensure that any external transactions less than R5 000 000.00 done before 15h30 and transactions above R5 000 000.00 made before 14h00 will reach the destination Bank by the same business day Avios Card will ensure that any external transaction less than R5 000 000.00 done after 15h00 and transactions above R5 000 000.00 made after 14h00 will reach the destination Bank by the following business day.
Any internal transactions made from a Avios Card account to another Avios Card account will be credited immediately.
Avios Card will ensure that any external transactions less than R5 000 000.00 done before 10h45 and transactions above R5 000 000.00 made before 09h30 will reach the destination Bank by the same day Avios Card will ensure that any external transaction less than R5 000 000.00 done after 10h45 and transactions above R5 000 000.00 made after 09h30 will reach the destination Bank by the following business day.
Sundays and Public holidays:
All external transactions will be sent to the destination Bank the following business day. Only internal transactions will be credited the same day.
What is CashSend?
CashSend is the ability to transfer money almost anywhere in the country, without the recipient needing to have a bank account. You are also able to transfer money that will be available for collection immediately. With CashSend, you have the security of knowing that the intended recipient has been issued with both a unique 6-digit access code and 10-digit reference number to verify the transaction.
How does it work:
To send money via Avios Card Online:
- Login to Avios Card Online and select ‘Payments’
- Select ‘CashSend Payment’
- Enter the amount you wish to send, as well as the recipient’s cellphone number
- Create a 6-digit access code, which you must provide the recipient with, and confirm the payment
To collect your money:
- Visit an Absa ATM that offers the CashSend facility and select ‘CashSend’ followed by ‘CashSend Withdrawal’
- Enter the 10-digit reference number that has been sent to your cellphone
- Enter the 6-digit access code, together with the exact amount being sent
- Once the transaction has been verified, the money will be issued to you
- Only the full amount can be withdrawn
